Though Sam Raimi isn't saying whether he will direct Spider-Man 4, he is extremely involved with the project at the moment. Catching up with Empire, the director admitted that he was looking for a new writer for the next Spidey installment.
Spider-Man 4 Needs to Web a Writer
In every interview Raimi has done since the release of Spider-Man 3, the director has at least hinted and indicated that the odds of him accidentally sitting back down in the director's chair for the franchise were good. We don't want to start counting the spiders before they hatch, but Raimi is now hard at work looking for a writer that suits his needs.
“I want to help contribute to the production,” he said. “I don’t know if I’ll just be a producer on it but if I can work with the writer in such a way so that directing would be right for me, I don’t know. We’ve had our first meeting on Spider-Man 4 and we’re looking for the writer.”
A vague answer we know but we’re holding out hope as the great man starts the ball rolling on the wallcrawler’s next adventure and ends his time with the series on a high, rather than the disappointing third movie, which lacked the energy of the first two films.
Sam Raimi goes on to discuss 30 Days of Night and the horror genre in general. Check out the entire interview at Empire.
