'Bradley' wrote in and reminding me of one badass trailer that aired before Transformers. The trailer doesn't give a title, but it does mention that it comes from JJ Abrams' Bad Robot. So what is it?
JJ Abrams Top Secret Trailer
Before the Paramount logo pops up for Transformers, there is a good chance that you will see something like this:
Trailer begins with a home video camera that is video taping a going-away party taking place in a highrise building. Nothing exciting happens for the first half, making one think we had another Blair Witch on our hands. Then it happens. We hear a giant roar and things start shaking; as if from a boom. After a quick drop, the video camera runs toward the building's roof, where we get to see a couple good explosions and flying debris. The kids run out of the building, camera still in hand, and we are greeted to one more roar, a boom, and some shaking. Mayhem is about to ensue, the Statue of Liberty gets decapitated, and the trailer ends with nothing more than a quick flash of credits.
All we are told is that the film is produced by JJ Abrams, along with Bad Robot, and a theatrical release has been set for January 18th, 2008.
Though left with a black screen, the good people at AICN mentioned something of this film back in June.
The film currently has the working title of Colverfield, and it sounds like a Blair Witch monster movie that documents some sort of an attack on New York.
So what is Cloverfield? Well, word from inside the company is that CLOVERFIELD is a giant monster movie, featuring something that's being referred to internally as "The Parasite," and we’re going to see a trailer for it very soon that’s been designed and shot even as we speak. I’m not sure if it’s going to be attached to TRANSFORMERS or if we’ll see it later in the summer, but it’s definitely coming soon. And the end of it should feature one of those iconic images that makes people talk about a trailer for months.
The trailer sure has us talking, and I wouldn't mind seeing it again online. After the holiday perhaps?
Update: 'Bradley' has found what could be the film's teaser site. Creative, right?
Stay tuned for updates.
