Being the type of guy who will always sit down to catch Silverado, Unforgiven or Open Range, I felt a shit-eating smile form across my face when Lionsgate released the first trailer for 3:10 to Yuma. Starring Christian Bale and Russell Crowe, this western seemed like a dream come true and another strong reminder that this genre is still in short supply.
It turns out that Lionsgate has already begun to screen what sounds like an almost-finished cut of 3:10 to Yuma and, as we hoped, the first screening report is positive.
Screening Report: 3:10 to Yuma
I learned two things from the first screening report to appear for 3:10 to Yuma over at AICN. One, the film is great and, two, Ben Foster plays the cowboy badass in the off-white leather. That character is tight!
I love westerns, I really do. It's a genre of film that I don't always actively seek out, but am always game for when the opportunity arises. After seeing the trailer and cast for this flick, I was really excited. Batman and Gladiator facing off? I'm there. Throw in one seriously badass Ben Foster and Peter Fonda and I really have no excuse not to go. With that said, 3:10 to Yuma well-exceeded my expectations.
