Sandler to Star in Mitch Albom Pitch

You know you are a hot writer when a studio acquires your upcoming pitch and immediately lines up a high-profile actor to star in it. So is the case for bestselling author Mitch Albom, whose feature writing debut has already found legs with Columbia Pictures, Happy Madison and Adam Sandler.

Happy Madison has been picking up starring vehicles left and right for Sandler including I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry and You Don't Mess with the Zohan.

Mitch Albom has been warming up to a feature writing debut for some time. His books Tuesdays With Morrie, The Five People You Meet in Heaven and For One More Day have all been turned into telepics.

The untitled project is a comedy with emotional elements set in the world of baseball.

Albom was once a sports columnist for the Detroit Free Press.
