Got some good and bad news. What you want first? Let's start with the good.

Though the response has been negative on having Live Free or Die Hard be PG-13, Bruce Willis has confirmed that this installment of Die Hard is easily the best installment yet and, before you ask, he even considers it better than the first installment; hence, the best yet. Since the original Die Hard is considered the best action film ever by many, that is a big claim indeed.

All seemed well until Bruce Willis snuck on to AICN's talkback section under the name of Walter B. Though this move should have been harmless and, if anything, pleasantly surprise AICN talkbackers, Bruce went a step further and talked shit on Michael Bay -- whom he last worked with on Armageddon.

Live Free or Die Hard Discussion Turns into Michael Bay vs Bruce Willis

It always surprises me when a Hollywood name comes out of nowhere and openly rips on a co-worker. What does this accomplish exactly? Anywho, while moviegoers have already found it trendy to rip on Michael Bay, Bruce Willis figured he'd join in on the fun and left this nasty little comment at AICN:

[Michael Bay] Would have ruined DH4. Few people will work with him now, and I know I will never work with him again.

What? With such a comment, Michael Bay had to respond.

Hard to believe it really is Bruce saying that stuff on AICN. I loved working with Bruce. He gave me a big hug one month ago at the GM party and we talked for 20 minutes. We even talked about working together again! I mean it would be sad if he felt this way - he's never one to hide his feelings - I say sad, in that he wouldn't be man enough to say it to my face. But truly sad that such a big time actor would have to hide on a little talk back section. So I really don't believe this story.

I find it also totally odd that my agents at William Morris got the call from Bruce's people to inquire if I would like to helm Die Hard 4, but I was already on Transformers.

So what's up now?

I happen to love both these guys so, to avoid any added trouble, I'm keeping my mouth shut on this one.

Michael Bay posted his response on his official blog.

Live Free or Die Hard opens to theatres on June 29th.
