With The Tourist getting tinkered with before its production start this February, the project has found room to include Johnny Depp. That is, if he agrees to star opposite Angelina Jolie.

Sony Pictures is hoping that Depp will agree to play an American tourist drawn into a web of intrigue by a female Interpol agent (Jolie) who is attempting to locate a criminal who was once her lover.
The move comes after Avatar star Sam Worthington exited along with director Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck, both over creative differences.
Bouncing back, the project already has a list of high-profile directors thinking of getting behind the camera including Alfonso Cuaron.
Originally written by scribe Julian Fellowes, Christopher McQuarrie and Jeffrey Nachmanoff both did rewrites.
