Just when The Tourist looked to be losing momentum, Spyglass has pressed their foot down on the accelerator by hiring Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck to direct.
The Tourist Gets Director and Production Start
Well, he's not exactly entirely onboard just yet, but it looks very likely. The Tourist will star Angelina Jolie as a female Interpol agent who draws an unwitting American tourist into her attempt to locate a criminal who was once her lover. The American tourist will be played by the newly-popular Australian actor, Sam Worthington. If the name rings a bell, you might remember the actor from Terminator Salvation or notice his upcoming role in James Cameron's Avatar.
If the story rings a bell, then you likely saw the French thriller Anthony Zimmer, which the film is a domestic remake of.
