Josh Duhamel
With 2009 closing out I guess we can assume that the studios, for the most part, proved themselves to be pretty recession proof. Sure, a WAG or SAG strike can make the pillars crumble, but seeing the entire nation drop in unison doesn't slow down the box office whatsoever. Posting stronger numbers this year, Disney has no problem spending $900,000 against $1.6 million for What's He Got?, a pitch by Kevin Bisch. The studio is so ready to move on production that they've already got Josh Duhamel attached to star.
Josh Duhamel for What's He Got?
To be directed by Walt Becker, What's He Got? is described as a high concept romantic comedy. Considering the genre, having Josh Duhamel onboard seems natural; McConaughey must have been busy.
The deal from Disney shows a recent trend from Hollywood. Though all the studios are claiming that their wallets are sealed when it comes to projects further than a year or two out, they do open up from time to time for what they must see as a great idea.
