“Absolutely,” Chase said. “There’s room for it, thought we haven’t come up with a particular script where I’ve been called upon to do it but I love pratfalls.”
Chase mugged and posed for the photographers at the Paley Center for Media’s fall TV preview, so he’s still got his comedy chops. It’s been a few years since Chase played Gerald Ford or Clark Griswold, but it’ll only require a few adjustments to have him falling down again.
“I’m not getting any younger. I’d have to set it up the right way.”
On Community, Chase plays Pierce, an elder student who might come across as a bit clueless. Chase said you’d be right if that were your impression of Pierce. “A touch. A touch clueless.”
Perhaps the study group can help him learn. “Well, he has a great deal of wisdom but it comes from a life of having learned nothing, so we’ll have to find out.”
