Tron: Legacy
Now this is odd. While you usually see studios competing for release dates during summer, Disney has decided to take it to Sony by having Tron: Legacy release on the same day as The Green Hornet. Both films favor the male demographic, and both films are battling for a December weekend. Wha?!
Tron Legacy vs The Green Hornet
Both Tron: Legacy and The Green Hornet are set to be released on December 17th, 2010. While the move does seem risky, I got $5 that Disney is expecting Sony to push The Green Hornet back a bit further, since the film's production has already had quite the bumpy ride; which forced the delay of expected theatrical release.
Where Disney also has an edge is the buzz they've already generated for Tron: Legacy thanks to the Comic Con video below (via TrailerAddict). It just so happens that this video was shown at both SDCC 2008 and 2009.
Tron: Legacy will open to theaters on December 17th, 2010.
