Shrapnel
Sometimes it's love at first site, and I'm not talking between a man and woman. After spotting the graphic novel Shrapnel on the day of its release while randomly browsing a comicbook store, Len Wiseman knew that was the story for him. He liked it so much that he quickly called his agent (at ICM) and took the quickest avenue to acquire the screen rights.
Len Wiseman Adapting Shrapnel
To get the ball rolling, Wiseman has signed on to direct and develop the adaptation of Shrapnel for Radical Pictures. Though the studio isn't big, I'm assuming that they are going to need some sort of respectable budget for a story such as this.
Shrapnel centers on a sci-fi future where humans have colonized the solar system and formed a Solar Alliance to govern the planets. The story focuses on Venus, the last rebellious holdout, and a self-exiled former Marine who teaches the colonists how to fight back.
What's even crazier is that Wiseman is considering making the adaptation 3D. Now how much does that cost?
