Adam Sandler
MGM might have their leads with Kevin James and Rosario Dawson already cast for the upcoming comedy The Zookeeper, they only recently begun to cast their animals.
Adam Sandler, Cher, Jon Favreau, Sylvester Stallone and Judd Apatow for The Zookeeper
And when I say animals, I mean voices... for the animals. In a deal made at the beginning of the week, MGM got Adam Sandler, Cher, Jon Favreau, Sylvester Stallone and Judd Apatow to agree to provide voices for the animals in The Zookeeper.
Sandler, who is also producing under his banner Happy Madison, will voice a capuchin monkey. Cher's voicing a giraffe, Favreau a bear, Stallone a lion and Apatow an elephant. Jim Breuer, Faizon Love and Bas Rutten have also been added to the growing roster of voice cast.
Directed by Frank Coraci off a screenplay by Jay Scherick and David Ronn, James, Rock Reuben and Nick Bakay, The Zookeeper centers on zoo animals trying to teach the keeper their methods of dating and mating to help him win back the woman of his dreams.
Production is set to begin late summer, with MGM eying their sights on October 8th, 2010 for theatrical release. Far out, I know, but guess that's the time it takes to have talking animals. You know, lots of training.
