When it comes to doing a domestic remake of the German thriller Das Experiment, Inferno Entertainment is off to the right start. To ensure that they have the necessary ensemble cast, they have gone forth and picked up Adrien Brody, Forest Whitaker, Elijah Wood and Cam Gigandet. I don't know who the casting director is, but that person needs a raise.

Directed by Paul Scheuring off a script he wrote, The Experiment will center on a group of ordinary men recruited to take on the roles of guards and prisoners as part of a research study and examined how the effects of assigned roles, power and control affected the participants. Brody will portray the de facto leader of the prisoners while Whitaker will play a guard who's corrupted by the power he's given.
For those of you who took either psychology or sociology in college, you might recognize this very same experiment, which actually took place and revealed similar results.
In short, those with power can't help but become cruel and corrupt.
