Tintin
Long title alert! Paramount Pictures that their upcoming Tintin adaptation, The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn will arrive to theaters just in time to catch 2011. That's right folks, there's a bit of a wait on this one.
Theatrical Release: The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn
The choice of theatrical release for Tintin -- do you mind if I just call it Tintin? -- is strange. While those of us in the states will have to wait until December 23rd, 2011 for the film, international audiences might be seeing it as soon as October. Why Paramount needs two more months than Sony Pictures, who's handling international distribution, I have no idea.
One of the reasons Tintin is taking so long is because Spielberg has finally decided to do the film in 3D. The film entered production in January and the studio is already planning on going forward with a sequel. While the early greenlight sounds overly confident, Peter Jackson is already onboard to direct. He is currently producing the first installment.
Tintin stars Jamie Bell, Daniel Craig, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Gad Elmaleh, Toby Jones and Mackenzie Crook.
