The Thirteenth Floor
Oh, poor The Thirteenth Floor. It came out a month after The Matrix only it didn’t have martial arts, that bendy slow motion shot or Keanu. Now they didn’t even bother giving it a good Blu Ray.
On Blu-Ray: The Thirteenth Floor
It’s dull and dim and soft. It may not be the visual feast of The Matrix but they can at least make the rooms look lit and keep the actors in focus. The scenes that are supposed to be heightened in a sepia/green old fashioned hue just look like they were mastered wrong.
I understand trying to milk whatever you can out of your flops, but if you’re going to try to sell Blu Rays, you have to at least sell the look. Show us what we didn’t appreciate the first time around. If you just make it look worse, no one’s going to buy it.
