It is no secret that Michael Bay has been playing it a bit loose when it comes to bringing Transformers characters to the big screen. Megatron was more than just a big gun, and it now looks like Soundwave will also be upgraded for Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen.
Transformers 2's Soundwave
Empire Online has posted a few toys for Transformers 2 and one of them is Soundwave. The only catch is that even the biggest fans of the franchise wouldn't have spotted him, as he's been upgraded beyond recognition. Though Soundwave's original 'alternate mode' was that of a microcassette recorder, he's now been given the ability to turn into a jet and fly. A lot tougher, sure, but the Decepticons might soon dominate the air if every character gets upgraded with wings.
While franchise fans are sure to not like the improvements, I have to wonder how anybody can respect a microcassette recorder.
