Kung Fu Panda Kung Fu Panda
The opening 2D sequence of Kung Fu Panda looks absolutely gorgeous on Blu Ray. With such crisp lines, the characters appear distinct from the backgrounds, even though it's a single plane.

On Blu-Ray: Kung Fu Panda

The 3D look is typical CGI animation. The added details make it appear realistic, like bumps in the stone, fur and whiskers, nicks on steel swords. The China setting provides many unique landscapes and architectures to present in colorful clarity. Po's tummy jiggles in subtle bounces. Marble and vases shine.

It's actually more reality-based than something like Wall-E which remains surreal. It's only the kung fu animals that break the reality. Their fast moves zing across the screen in high definition.
