Guitar Hero: On Tour
I bought a Nintendo DS just for Guitar Hero: On Tour. It's not that I'm so obsessed that I need to play Guitar Hero wherever I go. It's that the handheld version is such a cool game in its own right, I wanted to have it.
Guitar Hero: On Tour
It's like playing a whole new game that totally still feels like Guitar Hero. It's definitely a new skill to learn, stroking a touch screen and fingering small buttons.
I found the learning curve pretty smooth. I only needed one song on medium to get used to it and then I was playing on hard, unlocking all the songs. After only a week I've already developed a playing style, a way to hold the DS and the pick comfortably and got some five stars.
Minor complications are getting tangled in my headphones when I play in public, and not being able to scream to ignite star power also while I'm in public. That's a social choice though. I could just do it. And sometimes a fortunate gust of wind or A/C will do it for you.
It's worth it just to have more songs too. I'd buy a whole new Guitar Hero to play "Jessie's Girl," plus I get "Spiderwebs" and "We're Not Gonna Take It" too.
So any future DS reviews I do have Guitar Hero: On Tour to thank. I will actually end up playing more on the DS because it'll fill my dead waiting time. At home I watch movies but out and about, I'll rock GH:On Tour.
