Michael Bay
While the pair found tons of success with blockbusters like The Rock, Bad Boys and Armageddon back in the '90s, Michael Bay and Jerry Bruckheimer haven't combined their talents for some time. Finding some motivation with the 2006 documentary Cocaine Cowboys, the duo might re-team for a drug-based series adapted from the docu.
Michael Bay and Jerry Bruckheimer Together Again?
If a deal comes together, series would revolve around the drug trade in Miami in the 1980s. Instead of the flash of Crockett and Tubbs, skein would focus on the cutthroat world of drug dealers and the Colombian cocaine kingpins who set up shop in the once-sleepy Florida city. The pair would serve as executive producers.
Though no writer has boarded the project just yet, HBO and Warners have been discussing the project for some time.
This is not the first time Cocaine Cowboys has created ripples in Hollywood. Paramount is already developing a feature film about Jon Roberts, one of the drug lords profiled in the documentary, with Mark Wahlberg attached to star and Peter Berg onboard to direct.
