Though Entourage's Ari Gold would tell Maggie Gyllenhaal to wait for the release of The Dark Knight before accepting roles, it looks like the actress just doesn't have the patience for it. Becoming the queen of replacements, Maggie Gyllenhaal will step in for Toni Collette on Sam Mendes' upcoming untitled relationship comedy.

Film, which stars John Krasinski and Maya Rudolph, is about a young couple who travel around the U.S. searching for a place to put down roots. Gyllenhaal will play a bohemian college professor who is an old friend of the character played by Krasinski.

Sam Mendes will direct off a script by Dave Eggers and Vendela Vida.

Collette dropped out of the film due to scheduling delays on the shoot, which recently got under way in Connecticut. Gyllenhaal begins lensing her role next week.
