Though I still have a bit of a grudge against Brett Ratner for X3, I am still forced to admit that the director not only has style -- think of a young Hugh -- but can make a solid film from time to time. Taking this into account I'm sure, Universal Pictures and Imagine Entertainment are in talks with the helmer to direct the remake of The Incredible Shrinking Man.
Brett Ratner in Talks to Start Shrinking
An updated version of the best-selling novel and 1957 sci-fi classic starring Grant Williams, The Incredible Shrinking Man is taking the comedic approach to the fantastical material, telling the story of a famous Las Vegas magician who is put under a spell that causes him to shrink. He must find a way to reverse the spell before he gets so small that he "disappears."
Brian Grazer, who has been sticking awkwardly close to Ratner of recent, is onboard to produce. Eddie Murphy is already attached to star.
Thomas Lennon and Robert Ben Garant penned the most recent draft of the screenplay.
Ratner's last project to hit the bigscreen was Rush Hour 3.
