What begin as a simple three movies could become nine.
People have always wondered if Lucas would go forward
and create yet another trilogy for the Star Wars saga. What began
as the tale of Luke Skywalker could end up not only having a prequel trilogy,
but a sequel trilogy as well! That is correct, Lucas has announced that
he plans to go forward with Star Wars Episodes VII-IX!
Star Wars Episodes VII-IX
In the next trilogy of Star Wars, we will
encounter a young Anakin [the son of Han and Leia] who will grow up and
be stronger than both Luke and Leia. Even though the empire has been defeated,
the fight against the Sith emergence continues. Luke, now older, has become
a mentor to those gifted in the force, including Leia's twin children.
The next Star Wars trilogy will be based on Anakin [appropriately
named after his great-grandfather Darth Vader] and his battle against not
only the Sith, but the dark side's seduction. Anakin represents one of the
last hopes for the jedi order, and is necessary to continue the fight against
the Sith and train future jedis.
All in all, sounds like a pretty good start for the next trilogy.
Wait a minute. What day is today? It is April 1st!
