Yahoo! Movies has recently posted a new piece of media for Snakes on a Plane that I first thought was a short trailer. Though that is a perfect description for what it is, Yahoo! is calling it a 'first look'.
Snakes on a Plane First Look
Samuel L. Jackson stars in the intense action feature Snakes on a Plane from director David Ellis (Final Destination 2, Cellular). Jackson plays an FBI agent who is escorting a witness on a flight from Hawaii to Los Angeles when an assassin releases hundreds of deadly snakes on a commercial airplane in order to eliminate the witness. The FBI agent, along with a rookie pilot, frightened crew and passengers must then band together in a desperate attempt to survive.
The 'first look' for Snakes on a Plane shows off some of the updated special effects, a few more snakes, and some extended dialogue from the man himself. Since New Line is still holding out on showing any extended effects shots, you can only wonder how much extra work has gone into the film with its renewed budget.
Just in case you have been living under a rock -- New Line Cinema did not expect this explosion of hype around Snakes on a Plane and immediately scheduled re-shoots and threw up an extended budget to give the film more gore and better special effects. The studio even tried to take advantage of the hype by getting the film in theatres by mid-summer. Unfortunately for them, the summer weekends are already tight as it is with big-budget films and New Line couldn't get Snakes into a proper slot.

Snakes on a Plane comes to theatres on August 18th.
