I love how studios have dropped the whole 'teaser' idea and now offer first trailers that show actual footage from their films. Don't get me wrong, I love how some teasers, especially those that come out a year before the release of a film, work to create buzz and heightened anticipation. When we heard that Sony was going to release the first teaser trailer for Spider-Man 3 with the release of Superman Returns I had expected a thirty-second blip that alerts moviegoers that Spider-Man will have his web spun by 2007.
Fortunately for us that coudn't have been further from the truth.
Spider-Man 3 Teaser Trailer Running Time
According to a report over at Joblo, the running time for the Spider-Man 3 teaser will be 1:38. The site initially posted 2:30, an incorrect detail that caused many fanboys to cream themselves right then and there.
What can Sony/Columbia Pictures possibly show over ninety-plus seconds? Well, definitely not Venom, but there is a chance we'll get to witness Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) in action.
Seeing Peter Parker in a black spidy suit would be cool, seeing a symbiote morph into different outfits around Parker would be simply AMAZING.
If only 20th Century Fox could have stuck with having the Eragon teaser play before Superman Returns and we would have a perfect mix of previews before the film. Is it possible we could get another trailer preview for Pirates 2? Doubtful.
