It is a damn good thing that both the trailer and early reviews for Nacho
Libre have been positive. If Paramount had once considered counting solely on Jack Black's 'Confessionals' to promote the film, let's just say thank God they didn't.
Sure, some of the video diaries do have a bit of humor and, if you are a fan of Jack Black, you are bound to chuckle in more than a few. What these video diaries don't do, however, is show anything from the movie or even the set.
Take this new Confessional clip for example.
Nacho Libre Confessional
Titled 'The Grasshopper', don't start thinking Nacho goes up against some Kung Fu master. Instead Jack Black alerts us that he is being forced to eat a live grasshopper for a scene in the film. Everything sounds great and it looks like we might be able to watch some classic footage of Jack Black getting grossed out as a grasshopper begins to crunch underneath his jaw.
What we forgot, however, is that this clip is a Confessional and these clips wouldn't dare show anything cool from the set. So, instead of seeing Jack Black get sick, we get to see Jack Black walk out of the camera frame.
What? That's it, that's all that happens?! Somebody get that camera out of the trailer!
