It looks like Jon Voight is ready to take some time off from worrying about his daughter, Angelina Jolie, and prove that he is more than meets the eye.
Jon Voight for Transformers
According to Variety, the cast continues to grow for The Transformers: The Movie under director Michael Bay. After a scoop that released what looked like an entire cast list for the film, Dreamworks has announced that Jon Voight is that latest official edition.
Dreamworks has teamed with Paramount to create The Transformers and production is set to begin later this month, with the film still on schedule for a July 7th, 2007 release.
Voight is the latest actor confirmed by the studio in a cast that has received a lot of attention online. While a casting list recently leaked onto the Internet, many of the rumored names are not likely to end up in the film.
Josh Duhamel, Bernie Mac, John Turturro, Megan Fox and John Robinson are expected to round out the cast. Travis Van Winkle and Shia LeBeouf have already been announced. So I guess that would mean Michael Clarke Duncan will NOT be reuniting with Michael Bay.
Though Dreamworks/Paramount are hoping to keep the budget for Transformers under the $150 million mark, don't be surprised if this baby ends up costing closer to $200 million by the time the film hits theatres.
Voight recently wrapped shooting Pride and Glory with Colin Farrell and Edward Norton for New Line Cinema.
