One of Peter Parker's number one influences in his life is Uncle Ben. Even after his murder in Spider-Man, Uncle Ben has made it a point to drop in on Peter every once in a while to remind him of his responsibilities and duties; basically, he tells him that he has to put getting some on hold. Though Uncle Ben's ghost may be putting a lot of pressure on Parker, it guarantees Cliff Robertson a role in Spider-Man 3.
Spider-Man 3 Has Cliff Robertson's Ghost
According to a report over at palmbeachpost, Cliff Robertson announced that would be making an appearance as Uncle Ben's ghost in Spider-Man 3. What does this mean? Most likely tears from both characters.
Sunday, another Oscar winner — Cliff Robertson, 80, best actor in 1968 for his role as a retarded man in Charly — watched the show at the Palm Beach International Film Festival's gala, at The Breakers.
Robertson, now known as Spider-Man's uncle, told Page Two he'll take back the ghostly personae of the murdered Ben Parker in Spider-Man 3.
"I just got a call that they were going to bring my character back to life again," he said. His part is being filmed in May.
Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst are back in the lead roles, Robertson said. But he pretended to lock off his mouth with a key when asked to give up more about the future blockbuster.
Since the appearance of Uncle Ben served as an emotional focal point for the film and part of the character arch to Peter Parker, we couldn't be happier to have him come back for another round.
