Batman vs Superman Batman vs. Superman
One of the rumors that has been getting a little fire due to the return of not only Batman but Superman in the films Batman Begins and Superman Returns, is the option to have a Superman vs Batman movie. We have the actors, there is a script, so what are we waiting on?

Superman v Batman

Just in case I have the title in error, the film could also be called Batman v Superman. Anywho, when interviewed by the press, Christian Bale admitted that he had a clause in his contract with the Batman series to do a Superman v Batman movie. A good while later Brandon Routh also admitted that he had a clause in his contract that was very similar to what Christian Bale had already mentioned. So, we therefore have the two actors signed on for the film if it was to ever get underway. But there are still a couple things both comicbook films must do first-- be a success at the boxoffice with solo runs. It has been stated that the new Batman films will probably have to do a couple to a few successful runs before any movement will go towards making Superman v Batman. If there is any possibility for this film in the future, it will probably be in the distant future.

A script for Superman v Batman already exists, so there are also no issues there. Here is a bit of the synopsis of the early script thanks to IESB:

When Bruce Wayne goes out seeking bloody vengeance on the murderer of his new bride, Jennifer. Superman opposes him, fights him to the near death - then it's discovered that the guy behind Jennifer's murder is also this big baddie in Superman's circle and they unite to fight. Warner Bros. has commissioned a script from Andrew Kevin Walker ('Seven') with Wolfgang Petersen ('The Perfect Storm') directing.
