I think I just found yet another reason why I love HBO's hit series Entourage. During the second episode of Season 3 we are told that the projected numbers for Vincent Chase's Aquaman -- directed by none other than James Cameron -- were predicting a better box office weekend than Columbia Pictures' Spider-Man.
I guess we should have seen this coming. Entourage mentions Variety so often, and calls it a 'High School Paper', that we should have expected HBO to finally use the print for its own purposes; or should I say fun little pranks?
One of our readers, 'Sarah,' recently alerted us to an ad placed in Variety by HBO that announces how their fictitious film, Aquaman, broke Spider-Man's box office record.
Fake Aquaman Ad Shown in Variety
It turns out that tons of people were at least temporarily fooled and even James Cameron's friends and family called the director to congratulate him about a film they never heard of.
