The Can Magazine Moves Up to Version 2.0
By Ryan Parsons | None

New adjustments to The Can Magazine should make browsing easier.
Expect some changes within this week on the CanMag.Com
website. I am currently adjusting the URL folder structure from version
1.0 to version 2.0. The final result should allow the user to view pages
without the use of extended [which are too long] dynamic links.
CanMag.Com Moves Up to Version 2.0
Where you would usually see a link like this to go to a news article:
http://www.canmag.com/getnews.php?id=163&issuenum=2&department=3
This link can also be accessed through a 'static' URL like so:
http://www.canmag.com/news/2/3/163
The reason for these changes is to allow the smaller search engines to index
our pages and site more efficiently; therefore driving more traffic to the
site. It is also more efficient to have shorter URLs for the users as well.
Expect Some Errors with Update
I have already encountered some problems and have had to make changes to
almost every news article written by the site to help compensate for the
new 'static' folder structures. However, even with all the safeguards running,
there are bound to be errors along the way.
If you do notice pages in error, such as an image not existing within the
document, please contact us at contact@canmag.com
and let us know. |
