X-Men Picks Up Joss Whedon to Replace Singer

Published September 8, 2004 in MOVIE NEWS

CHUD and Joblo both confer that X-Men 3 will NOT be directed by the great Bryan Singer [known for film such as the X-Men series, Apt Pupil, and The Usual Suspects]. Brian has recently shifted on Fox Studios in order to direct the upcoming Superman film [titled Superman Returns].

X-Men Finds Replacement For Singer

Joss Whedon, who had recently displayed interest in directing the next episode in the expanding X-Men saga, seems to have finally stepped up in an effort to fill Singer's shoes. Whedon has a much different history than Singer as he was part of, or wrote, screenplays such as Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Alien Ressurrection, and Angel. Obviously, he seems to have just as much experience in television as he does film. But what does this mean for the latest X-Men film seeking to begin production?

We cannot really say. Yet, we stand by and cross our fingers that Whedon will be able to successfully continue one of the best comic book film's to hit the screen.

Joss Whedon is only rumored to have committed to the next X-Men film. However, until rumors have been proven false, it seems that Joss Whedon will take the job.
