Sean Bean

Sean Bean

Sean Bean first caught my eye in the Bond film Goldey Eye. Sean Bean played the IRA villain named Alec. You may remember him as the one with the scars.

Sean Bean then dropped off of the radar until his role as Boromir in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. As Boromir, Bean played a character who was conflicted about the task ahead. Boromir was the most 'real' character in Fellowship, as he must come to terms with his own inner demons. Sean Bean's acting allowed you to completely to care for Boromir, even though he was the darkest one among the fellowship. While it was not suppose to happen, Boromir becomes the lead character for Fellowship of the Ring.

After Fellowship, we see Sean Bean in the very under-rated film Equilibrium. While his role as cleric Partridge was short, it was damn memorable, and remains the center stone to the entire story behind Equilibrium.

Every film after Equilibrium was great for Sean Bean. Now, the films weren't necessarily great, but he was great in them.
Memorable Moments
-Boromir's final battle scene that involved fighting off tons of Urakai, as he took three arrows to the chest before going down. Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring

-Boromir's dying words as he calls Aragorn 'my brother, my captain, my king'. Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring

-Cleric Partridge gets discovered by Cleric Preston [Christian Bale] as being a 'sense offender'. In his last words, Partridge recites a peom by W.B. Yeats that states 'Tread softly because you tread on my dreams' and then forces Preston to kill him. Equilibrium

...National Treasure offers up a brilliant mix of comedy and adventure to deliver a very satisfying flick. All of the characters know their rolls and play them perfectly. The film also plays homage to Da Vinci Code which only adds to the intelligence behind the adventure...
